Pervaiz Tufail is a 41 year old cured TB patient, with Masters in Psychology and MBA in Marketing having 13 years working experience with different national and international organizations. He is well known gender trainer, activist and community leader. He provided his services to national and International organizations to mainstream gender into programming. He is skilled and has specialty in the area of gender, TB, HIV/AIDS and child protection. His efforts in developing local, national and international patients advocates for gender mainstreaming, skill building and healthy living of people with TB and HIV and AIDS is recognized. He developed programs for community empowerment, advocacy and liaison building for National TB Control Program to involve and empower people infected/affected by TB.
He helped organizations to develop linkages of development initiatives to integrate HIV and AIDS with gender perspective. He was core group member for the development of Care and Counseling manual for people living with HIV/AIDS. He worked as National TB/HIV and AIDS trainer and conceived/provided his technical input in policy designing, lobbying for new TB drugs, ARV and IEC material designing. He provided his technical input to different UN agencies in design awareness campaigns on Life Skills, TB, HIV/AIDS and young people.
He held different international positions at WHO, Open Society Institute (USA), Treatment Action Group (TAG), TB Alliance and TB and Poverty Sub Group.
