ASSESSING THE INCLUSION OF CIVIL SOCIETY PRIORITIES IN GLOBAL FUND CONCEPT NOTES

This report summerizes the desk review of Global Fund Concept Notes submitted by Kenya, Malawi, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zanzibar and Zimbabwe and assesses the inclusion of civil society and community groups' priorities in these concept notes.  The results of the analysis reveal that there is wide variation in the degree to which concept notes include civil society priorities. Malawi’s concept note is by far the most responsive to civil society priorities (87%) and Zambia’s is the least (38%).

UNAIDS and IPPF join efforts to Fast-Track the response to HIV

UNAIDS and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) have signed a memorandum of understanding to Fast-Track access to HIV services by 2020. Investigating combination HIV prevention: isolated interventions or complex system

Treatment as prevention has mobilized new opportunities in preventing HIV transmission and has led to bold new UNAIDS targets in testing, treatment coverage and transmission reduction. These will require not only an increase in investment but also a deeper understanding of the dynamics of combining behavioural, biomedical and structural HIV prevention interventions. High-income countries are making substantial investments in combination HIV prevention, but is this investment leading to a deeper understanding of how to combine interventions?
