Global / World AIDS Day 2012: GCWA World AIDS Day Statement

On World AIDS Day 2012, the Global Coalition on Women and AIDS (GCWA) affirms that we must and we can turn the tide on HIV and AIDS for women and girls. Since 2004 the GCWA and its global membership of  civil society groups, including networks of women living with HIV, women’s rights organizations, AIDS service organizations, faith-based organizations, the private sector, and the United Nations (UN) system have partnered to improve the lives of all women living with and affected by HIV.

Global / Human Rights: HIV Awareness & LGBT Human Rights Advocacy in the United States

The Department of State has put together a Voluntary Visitor project examining HIV/AIDS Awareness & LGBT Human Rights Advocacy in the United States.  This program – which will be funded entirely by the Department of State – will take place July 27 – August 8, immediately following the International AIDS 2012 Conference in Washington, DC (July 22-27).  The program is open to participants from Europe who will already be traveling to Washington, DC for the AIDS Conference.  In addition to targeting persons attending the AIDS 2012 Conference, this project is particularly geare
